Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon
Professor Paul Ursell is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon specialising in cataract and lens replacement surgery. He founded Cataract Doctor to provide clear advice, exceptional treatment and a more personal approach to private eye care.
Andy manages the day-to-day running of Cataract Doctor, coordinating appointments, hospital arrangements and communication so that each patient’s care feels organised, responsive and straightforward.
Karen is often the first of our team that patients speak to. With more than 20 years’ experience supporting Prof Ursell’s patients, she helps with appointments, practical questions and the details around surgery and aftercare.
Catherine ensures smooth financial running of Cataract Doctor, including patient invoices and payments. If you wish to pay for your treatment in 24 installments, interest-free, Catherine can help with your application.
Emily is part of our office team, helping to coordinate appointments across our surgery locations and answering patient questions over the phone.
Cataract Doctor Locations
We work with two trusted hospitals, Parkside Hospital in London and Ashtead Hospital in Surrey. Both offer state-of-the-art facilities to carry out eye surgery and are easy to access via public transport or car, including free on-site parking. If you have private medical insurance, you can use it at either of our locations.
